Israeli extremism has a new best friend in the White House
The incoming Trump administration will bring a dangerous brew of Christian nationalism and anti-Palestinian racism
Things can always get worse. Much worse.
The Biden/Harris administration has bank-rolled and funded Israel’s mass slaughter in Gaza, the site of the highest number of child amputees per capita in the world. Israeli soldiers wilfully post their crimes online for all the globe to see. Palestinian journalists are being deliberately targeted by Israel in an unprecedented way.
Every day brings new horrors in Gaza, Lebanon and beyond. And that’s not ignoring the catastrophes in Syria, Sudan and Myanmar.
But we can’t despair or disengage. It can be hard with an incoming Trump White House stuffed with radicals, evangelicals and bigots but now is not the time to do so. We must keep on reporting, investigating, sharing, talking and raising public awareness of the real threats that surround us every day (from the climate crisis to nuclear war) and finding ways to solve them.
Always find hope.

Here’s some breaking news. I’ve said nothing about this publicly. Until now.
I’ve spent much of the year working on a documentary film series inspired by my best-selling book, The Palestine Laboratory. I’ve travelled to seven countries over many months, filming under the radar due to the sensitivity of the material. I can’t say much more at this stage except that it’s nearly completed and will be released soon on a major global broadcaster.
This photo is me in a clip from the series in an undisclosed location (after I’d completed a voice-over recording session.)
Stay tuned for more. This work will be ground-breaking.
My recent work has largely focused on the worsening disaster in the Middle East and I’ve spoken to media outlets including CNN, Al Jazeera English, Sky News and others. There’s a small selection of my interviews below and you can see the rest on my website and YouTube channel:
I’ve recently released the four-part podcast series, The Palestine Laboratory, with the US media outlet, Drop Site News. It’s generated a massive global response, I’m receiving supportive messages from the Middle East to the Caucasus, and the podcast details both the history of Israeli militarism from before 1948 until now and Israel’s current mass slaughter in Gaza and beyond.
The podcast was recently very positively reviewed in the UK outlet, Middle East Eye.

Here’s my interview about it with the popular Canadian journalist, Samira Mohyeddin:
My book continues to make waves in non-English speaking countries, an important part of its mission to educate people across the globe about the Israeli arms industry and the dangers it poses to us all.
The book was recently released in an Italian edition and my interview below is with a popular Youtuber in that country:
Italy’s leading TV current affairs program recently investigated Israel’s war on Palestine and interviewed me as part of a one hour documentary. As a result of the program, the host received serious threats. Such is the state of public “debate” on the Middle East in Italy.
In Brazil, a country with a long history of colluding with Israel, the Jewish state elicits very mixed feelings. My book’s local edition is discussed in this interview (plus two others):
The potency of the Palestine lab isn’t diminishing. I was interviewed about this fact on Al Jazeera’s AJ+:
Germany and Austria have been obsessive backers of Israel, especially since 7 October 2023, in a deluded belief that they can atone for their embrace of Nazism during World War Two.
As a German citizen myself, I add my voice to the growing chorus of those who fundamentally oppose this position.
I signed a prominent public statement that outlined Germany’s complicity in Israel’s genocide against Gaza and demanded it reverse course.
Here’s my interview with Austria’s national public broadcaster on Israel’s use of deadly quadcopters in Gaza.
In other recent news:
Israel is using an AI system in Gaza co-produced with an Indian company and I gave comments about this to Middle East Eye;
My book was recently released in an Indian edition and received a positive review in one of the country’s big newspaper;
My interview on ABC Radio Darwin about the expanding US spy base, Pine Gap, in the centre of Australia;
My interview on the great Australian podcast, Archive Fever, about my work as a “bomb thrower”:
In the last 20 years, I’ve written a number of books that may interest you from my 2006 best-seller, My Israel Question to Disaster Capitalism in 2015 and Pills, Powder and Smoke: Inside the Bloody War on Drugs in 2019.
They’re all available, in print/online, and ready for your reading pleasure.
My book was recently published in an Arabic edition by the Lebanese publisher, Arab Scientific Publishers. Reaching the Arab world has always been a priority of my work, especially when writing as a critical, Jewish man on the Middle East:
As the co-founder and co-editor of Declassified Australia, an independent news site that publishes investigative work, please donate $, we’ve recently published a stunning piece about the largely secret history of nuclear-powered submarines in Australia.

A remarkably powerful new film about a Palestinian girl who was gravely injured in Gaza and then travelled to the US for essential medical care. This documentary, recently screening on Al Jazeera English, is heart-breaking:
