Israel's economy is fuelled by local and international corporations making money from mass misery
Who wants to earn money from weapons used to eviscerate Palestinians? Who’s happy about investing in surveillance tools to target the most marginalised?
This is the logic of disaster capitalism (I’ve written a book and made a film about this in the last decade).
There’s no way that Israel could maintain the longest occupation in modern times without huge support and investment from some of the biggest companies in the world (looking at you Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Palantir etc).
Pressuring companies to divest, or shaming them into action, is one of the key challenges facing those of us who want to end this decades-long abomination in Palestine.
There’s a growing ideological and financial connection between Silicon Valley and Israel, led by anti-Muslim and pro-Trump sentiments, that’s helping to boost the Israeli economy.
The need for a profound shift in the Middle East is now.
The deliberate and planned starvation and mass killing of Palestinians is just the latest example of Israel’s genocide mania. These are views shared by far too many Israeli Jews and Jews in the Diaspora (while others just live in wilful denial).
Adversarial to power journalism is sorely needed at this moment.

She recently released a report detailing the companies complicit in Israel’s genocide in Gaza. It’s a ground-breaking report (and led to the Trump administration sanctioning her).
