After years of research and work, I’m happy to share that my film series, The Palestine Laboratory, is now out in the world, broadcast on the global network, Al Jazeera English.
It’s a unique collaboration with the amazing UK film production company, Black Leaf Films, and wonderful director, Dan Davies.
We started working on this project in 2022, even before my book of the same name was released (in May 2023), and it’s been a monumental investigation to uncover the real state of the Israeli arms industry and how it uses the Palestinians as guinea pigs when developing new weapons and surveillance tech.
Part 1 is set in Israel and Palestine and Part 2, airing on 6 February, takes me on a journey around the globe to the US, Mexico, India, South Africa and Greece to reveal how Israeli arms are popping up everywhere. The Israeli model, of repressing “unwanted” populations, is attractive to many nations.
Part 1 is available to watch for free:
I’ve been overwhelmed with the huge global response, from Korea to Palestine and the US to Germany, from people who are shocked at the level of oppression in Palestine who didn’t realise how advanced and dystopian it really is.
Part 1 has now been watched at least 100s of thousands of times.
A number of short clips from Part 1 have been posted online:
During my travels for the film in 2024, we traversed seven countries in two months, I took many photos and videos. I’ve started posting them:

A column in the South China Morning Post newspaper discusses the role of “authoritarian” AI versus the supposedly democratic kind from the West/US/Israel. The piece also writes about the Palestine laboratory film:
My recent column in the UK-based Middle East Eye on the collusion of Western Big Tech with Israeli war aims and crimes:
Francesca Albanese is the UN’s Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967. She’s regularly spoken about Israel’s breaches of humanitarian law in the last years so I’m thankful she routinely encourages people to read my book, The Palestine Laboratory.
You can follow me on Instagram and Twitter for constantly updated content. My website, recently redesigned, has information about all my work, books and documentary films stretching back to 2003.
